I just recently was thinking about that new upcoming Dc film Dwayne Johnson was cast as Black Adam in & ... Call me crazy, but I honestly think Tatum could be a PERFECT Shazam. Dude has the ability to be goofy but still maintain a manly-ness around his shenanigans.
... Maybe the sheriff's boy off Walking Dead could be Billy. That'd be who I 'd get if I'm making it but I'm just a consumer sadly.
Chaning Tatum Talks GAMBIT; Confirms Origin Story Plans And Possible X-MEN Ties
Talking in the latest issue of Empire Magazine, Channing Tatum (Foxcatcher) has revealed more details about his take on Gambit in the 2016 movie, shares his thoughts on the current draft of the script, and how "we're going to be changing some of the tropes of these movies.". Check it out!
2016 is a crowded and incredibly exciting year for superhero movies, but one release which is flying somewhat under the radar is Gambit, anX-Men spinoff starring Channing Tatum. The actor landed the role after making it clear in interviews how interested in the Cajun character he is, and Fox are currently in the process of hunting for a director. So, just how excited is the actor about the movie?
"I love Gambit," Tatum says in the latest issue of Empire Magazine. "I grew up in the South; my father's from Loiuisiana. We'd go to New Orleans and I heard all the dialects. It felt so different from the rest of America; it has its own ancient culture. So I identified with that. And he always felt the most real of the X-Men to me. He's kind of a tortured soul and he's not a good guy. But he's not a bad guy, either. He walks his own path. And of course he plays cards and drinks and is a martial-arts badass!"It sounds like the movie is going to be pretty faithful to the comic books then, but that's not a huge surprise what with X-Men scribe Chris Claremont writing its treatment.
As for the current status of Gambit, the actor added: "Josh Zetumer just turned in the first draft of the script, and it's killer. None of us were sure how he was going to deal with the X-Men world. But we're going to be changing some of the tropes of these movies. It's always about saving the world (Laughs), but maybe we're going to shift things a liittle but. There's so many ways you can take [an origin story]. You could do it like Batman Begins, or a different take and go the Guardians of the Galaxy route. All I can say is, I'm super excited." The chances ofGambit showing up in X-Men: Apocalypse remains to be seen, but this movie sounds like it could be a sleeper hit!

i actually thought the character was supposed to be british. shytty actor is shytty thoTaylor Kitsch
He actually didn't do a terrible job but he's got the stink of that first Wolverine movie on him still. He'd probably be much cheaper to hire at this point though. He couldn't hold that cajun accent for shyt though, he sounded British by the end of the movie
Another Marvel movie is getting ready to start filming this fall. That would be “Gambit,” starring Channing Tatum as Remy LeBeau aka Gambit and directed by Rupert Wyatt. Yesterday I was sent a casting call for a movie called “Chess,” from 20th Century Fox. It took a little reconnoitering to figure out it was “Gambit,” shooting in New Orleans. All the roles are noted to include deals for sequels. I guess Gambit will supplant Wolverine as the new go to guy in Fox’s Marvel universe. PS Taylor Kitsch played Gambit in X Men: Origins.
Here’s the casting call as it was read to me:
Louis– Male, any ethnicity, 40s-50s. Elegant and intelligent. An appealing entrepreneur with an unexpected
dark side.

Nash– Male, any ethnicity, mid 20s – early 30s. A potent threat. Heir to his mother’s business. Malevolent.
Willhelm– Male, any ethnicity, 30s. Dangerous street criminal. Protective and loyal to his family. Intensely loyal and violent.
Gary– Male, any ethnicity, mid 20s – early 30s. A little simple; dim-witted and passive.
Nonna—Female, any ethnicity, mid 20s – 30 years old.
Uptight, corporate, vicious, sexual.

Directed by Rupert Wyatt while starring Channing Tatum, Gambit is set to open on October 7, 2016.
Channing Tatum’s “Gambit” deal is in jeopardy of falling apart and he is planning to exit the comic book project at 20th Century Fox, an individual with knowledge of the situation has told TheWrap.
The studio had been in the process of testing young actresses to star alongside Tatum, including Lea Seydoux, but insiders suggest that director Rupert Wyatt will soon have to find a new leading man.
It is unclear whether Tatum and his producing partner Reid Carolin plan to remain involved in a producing capacity, or whether Simon Kinberg and Lauren Shuler Donner will move forward on their own.
One individual close to the project told TheWrap that Tatum’s reps are still in active discussions with the studio but acknowledged that “something is up.” The situation will have to be resolved quickly, as “Gambit” is slated for release on Oct. 7, 2016.
