If they owned a company or something you might have a point. Chance got many reasons he can get disliked but most people actually dislike him because he has priviledge which is low-key jealous.

Im not reaching hard at all. Dude family owns a tobacco farm, he has a super clean image and is a “breath of fresh air” yet he often mentioned cigarettes in his music, had all kind of imagery with cigarettes, as well as public appearances. That’s in direct opposition to his clean image. Rappers and musicians get paid to promote brands in music since forever. Everything is not a paid promotion but some is. For instance, Petey Pablo got paid by segrams gin to name drop them in the song freek a leak and other songs. Some of these deals are structured where the pay is based on how well the record does. So it’s not an extreme reach at all to think Chance may have been promoting cigarettes for his own family’s benefit or for a check from someone in the tobacco industry. I’m not some crazy conspiracy theorist. I try to look at the facts subjectively, and it’s definitely possible he was on some bullshyt.

All your criticisms are about your perception of him. That all projecting. Clean doesn't mean saint.

Like most rap fans you go hard at rappers that you perceive as consious. A theme in this culture. You keep mentioning this farm but all that exemplifies is he had a priviledge well to.do family. It's not a strike on his actual character. He also rapped about pills. Rap fans really give non street rappers the hardest time in the game as far as credibility. See, these reboots wouldn't bother me if they put actual effort into them, but they never do. They just take what was already done and water it down until it doesn't even resemble the original product.
