Black people especially in america are forever doomed :mjcry:

nikkas is actively slandering positive music.. whether you hate him, his voice or think he's a plant.. as a black man how can you NOT embrace positivity , especially at a time with all thats going on in america :dahell:

dawwwg you nikkas are a lost cause fr fr, ya'll can have your savage 21 and mindless c00n raps but swear only white people listen to dude..

not a c00n out here breeehhhs.. i embrace anything that uplifts black people and pushes that love and positivity thats so needed in the black community...

Thank you chano :blessed:
this aint disney channel nikka:rudy:
How the fukk you gon base artistic merit solely on positivity? If thats the case Lil B 50 times the rapper Chance is. My favorite rappers are my favorite rappers because they make meaningful observations about the world around them and their experiences in that world, or they have abilities that have actual entertainment value like being a good storyteller. I'm not giving him pity points cause he was positive, that's insulting to anyone who considers themselves an artist. That's like saying movies where the good guy wins are better than when the bad guy wins cause of happy endings. Acid Rap is positive, but he actually has meaningful songs like Acid Rain and Paranoia, songs that shed light on serious issues. This is just half assed melodic rap over gospel music, because rap singing is whats hot now. Gotdamn y'all have some really low standards. 10 day was way better than this shyt

bro he doesn't even rap..its all singing

I love gospel music but this is trash from the 1st 2 songs I heard, this nikka isn't even rapping :dahell:
EXACTLY :mindblown:
There's barely any rapping this whole tape. How blind do you have to be to see he's just following trends at this point:aicmon:
Gotdamn all these chicago nikkas fell off so hard, i lowkey expected it from the drill rappers cause there's only so much subject matter they can cover before it gets boring, but SAVEMONEY done fell the fukk off. Vic Mensa is trash, Chance trash now, Joey Purp is now the nicest dude in they whole squad and he hasn't even dropped a tape yet. Allow me to plug y'all with some real piffery:

I didn't like Acid Rap at all but this is very good. Not sure how much of it I can attribute to him, but it's some nice joyful music. Not enough of that today.

I can't truly hate on this music. Because this is truly GOOD music. And there isn't much of that in this world. But man...can I call this better than Acid Rap? Can I say this deserves a NINETY on metacritic? I don't know....this isn't necessarily a rap or even hip hop album.

I listened to a copy straight from Apple Music with headphones and as far as I remember, this definitely has been engineered a certain way. The sound you get from this in terms of "sketchy" mixing/mastering is intentional (after listening to the album on spotify)

I decided to wait and actually sit with the album for a while before posting a review.

It's pretty incredible IMO, it reps for the city so well. Especially the normal part of the city, everybody ain't out here drilling opps everyday. Most of us is just into music, art, our families, god, and having fun. I'd go so far as saying this album picks up the mantle for regular Chicago nikkas since Kanye and Common laid it down in their first albums.

People complained about it but I love how he morphs into young thug on Mixtape, and Jay Elec on How Great. He's still a fan and to to jaded to show it, while still showing off that he can flip styles.

It's the friday of a 3 day weekend and I spent 30 mins this morning sitting in my parking lot at work in a great mood mesmerized by this album. It made me feel good, music doesn't do that often anymore, Coloring book did that. He walked that line between being uplifting and entertaining, without falling into being corny IMO. Blessings came close, and probably crosses that line for some people, but the earnestness of it sells it for me even when it annoyed me on first listens.

He raps on every single song. Every single one his voice was on he's spitting. He held his own with some of the best and most popular rappers in the game. How do you figure it's not a rap album ? Cause he talks about God on a few tracks ? Come on fam.

I think its pretty obvious this album doesn't start at hip hop. Just because an artist raps on an album doesn't mean it is a rap album, nor if it features rappers. The most popular Chicago artist of all time is pretty indicative of this, Kanye West. When I hear something like Yeezus, I don't think of that as a hip hop album. I think of that as a blend of several genres reaching a mesh point that was curated by an hip hop artist. And even that's up for more debate than Coloring Book.

A gospel album can have a hip hop background, can it not?
