No real presence in media. And I'm not talking about radio and the usual avenues. I've yet to meet five chance the rapper fans. Only hear about him from cacs and hotep magenta skinny jeans rocking nikkas. Cacplex types. Oh yea, for being only a "mixtape" this dude has billboards plastered all over bus terminals in Chicago. Despite having no real fans. Pretty sure his ties to politics and the mayor don't have anything to do with that
first off if you never hear shyt about him and the DEFINITION of a plant is someone who is secretly backed by the industry then where do you get this impression that someone placed him in his position? Who put him there and why if he never gets radio play (excluding WGCI in his city Chicago) and he literally has 0 hits. The dude barely even gets interviews and even Charlamagne said he had never heard of Chance's music when he showed up on the Breakfast club and CTG is in the industry.
As far as his posters go,
Chance 3 (Promo Poster Pack)
CHance sold promo posters on his site and tweeted for fans to place them throughout their cities to raise awareness for his project. OUtside of a Chicago billboard with his face on it the reason those shyts are everywhere is because either fans put them their or Chance paid for them to be put in certain places.
THIS is how the dude makes his money, he has his fans get the posters off of his site then place them around the city both makin his money and getting advertisements while making fans feel involved.
CHANCE THE RAPPER’S ‘CHANCE 3′ POSTERS ARE POPPING UP ALL OVER THE COUNTRY
Chance The Rapper's 'Chance 3' Posters Are Popping Up All Over the Country
"A few days ago,
Chance The Rapper revealed the artwork for the highly anticipated follow-up to
Acid Rap via social media. The artwork for the tentatively titled
Chance 3 was made available for purchase in the form of posters on
chanceraps.com. Some found it strange that only 10-packs of 24″ x 36″ posters were offered—with no other options—but now it’s all making sense."
Over the past couple of days, Chance has been retweeting fan photos of his posters that have been plastered all over the country, from Chicago to L.A. Suddenly those 10-packs seem like an ingenious idea."
I've never seen an organic campaign like this so fan involved but ya'll think he's a plant though?
