and where has that gotten us over the past 7 or 8 years. They rarely draft well when it comes to position players and the ones they do get....

1. Surround Cano with players past their prime then let him walk
2. Give up on Melky
3. Trade Austin Jackson for Granderson who only hit more homers but rarely made clutch hits, and he aint even here no more.
4. Montero was probably made to play in New York but since you don't know how to draft pitchers you were forced to trade him away along with his mental drive focus and determination.

Then you draft good players like Hughes that aren't built to play in this market.

The Boss took risks but now all of a sudden you don't want to go after a Puig or Chapman? They spent money for Tanaka out of desperation.
