it's not his fault. it's never his fault.

ain't that right @tremonthustler1 ?

He can NEVER win with y'all. It's pointless to even debate it at this point. Y'all whined about the offense all winter. What did he do? Get offense. We wanted Tanaka? He got Tanaka. He cut out damn near all of the crap y'all hated. He even got someone to actually be representable at 3B to the point where the words Alex and Rodriguez haven't even been mentioned. Not even once.

June 2nd and if I couldn't place a name to the opinion, I'd think y'all were Mets fans bytching about Sandy Alderson.

Is it Cashman's fault Carlos Beltran got hurt? Is it Cashman's fault Tex can't go days without his wrist acting up (and let's keep it 100, in the time he's been out he's done his part)? Is it his fault CC's fallen apart in the span of a year in what should still be last year or two of his prime? Is it his fault Alfonso Soriano has made us feel like Curtis Granderson never left?

Most of all, is it his fault that he spent millions of dollars (that some of us thought he wasn't gonna spend) to give the offense a boost yet the guy who has produced the most is a 26 year old journeyman minor leaguer? The players are not holding up their end of the bargain outside of Tanaka. Straight up. This isn't a management issue. It's an on the field personnel problem.

It's really difficult and very disingenuous to call out management for moves that were almost universally supported by everyone.

I don't entirely disagree here but I think I speak for everyone when I say we are tired of the bargain bin and scrapheap layaway building breh...

You can't go out and sign old ass player like Beltran and expect them to perform or stay healthy...

It's also very embarrassing how we don't have a viable backup at 1B...It's not as if Tex hasn't been banged up the last 3 years...

I wasn't for the Beltran signing. I wasn't for not bringing back Overbay or Reynolds-- and oddly enough, if Cashman acts fast he can get that 1B in Kendrys Morales (and I'd offer 2 or 3 years just to seal it since three of the guys that would need the DH in A-Rod, Jeter and Soriano would be gone.)

in the grand scheme of things though, a lack of a backup 1B is NOT what's doing this team in right now. If we're depending on the fill-in production of a backup first baseman despite spending tons of money on offense, that's a bigger problem than having a subpar replacement at 1B.

i said this lineup wasn't that great BEFORE the season. I said the infield was trash BEFORE the season. beltran getting hurt is a shock now? he's 37. 3 years was a dumb move. soriano is feast or famine, and he's 38. tex just missed an entire season, and you don't bring a backup? mccann put up numbers similar to salty, ruiz, and AJ last year. so why give him, at 30, 5/85?

spending money does not equal spending wisely, and he signed "the big name". and the farm is still a mess. those trio of outfielders: .250, .209, .186.

worst GM in baseball.

I didn't like the moves either, but you knew they were gonna happen regardless especially after Boston won. Know why? Cuz God forbid that R word comes up.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
I said tanaka, Pineda and nova had to be lights out for the Yankees to have a chance. Nova is out for the year and who know when Pineda will be back to form.

But even if Pineda does come back to form that's still only 2 reliable starters. The Yankees need to offer any youngin not named Betances for a top of the rotation starter if they have any legit post season aspirations. They also need another position player signing or trade if they don't want to be legit contenders.

Most teams that shrink payroll go young but the Yankees did it and still got old players in the lineup.

Even with bringing in a top of the rotation starter. This offense is not world series winning material. We need to 1 give any youngin in our farm system a chance first of all and we need to let go of these old players.

Not gonna happen. Yankees don't want to go through the growing pains. They could have easily fixed this by outbidding for these Cuban defectors like they outbid for tanaka.

You either gonna lose and get high draft picks or outbid teams for the best young foreign born talent. It seems like the Yankees don't want to do neither.

We had two youngs guys in the rotation :wtf:
Nova came up through the minors and Pineda is still very young

Theres no one in the minors worth getting a shot. The real good prospects are pitchers or a couple years away from the majors

You cant have too many youngsters in the lineup. It just doesnt make sense
