This chapter was really good.

So this follows up Nayuta and Fami's conversation in chapter 131. So would increasing the chaos like here right now would by using the fire devil would get War stronger. Perhaps shes hoping this will cause Denji to choose being Chainsaw Man over living a simple life, which has been a dilemma of this arc.

Curious how this proceeds going forward.

Denji probably hates this. He was so excited about people showing love on tv, but now he's about to be feared like the Gun Devil was. My guess is that Fami wanted Denji to hold back because she wanted the new Chainsaw Men to commit crimes while Denji's heroics become forgotten since he hasn't saved anyone in a while (that'd enhance their fear of him). But that doesn't jive with turning Asa into a star, so I should probably workshop that idea





I'm a little confused about how the Fire Devil is turning people into clones. The "whatever form they desire" line doesn't really explain it or connect to "fire" at all.

And btw...Death is finally making an appearance. I'm already hype for the character design!

Darkness Devil did shyt that has nothing to do with darkness either, these Primal fear devils do whatever they want even animals fear fire

So when it comes to primal devils, their powers can come from pretty abstract concepts. Look at the darkness devil for example. It has the ability to specifically remove everyone’s arms. This move is inspired from the concept of humans using their arms to navigate about in the dark. Without your arms to feel your surroundings, you would feel even more lost in the dark.

We can also look at the falling devil. It can inflict mental attacks on people and stress them out. This comes from the concept of people ‘falling’ into slumps of depression.

The fire devil seems to also be a primal devil. So while it will have a more conventional fire-based move set, it will also have a couple of abilities that are more abstract in concept. For example, it has the ability to warp the appearance of the ones who make a contract with it. This mimics how fire can be used to smelt items and reshape them. It’s also similar to how a flame constantly changes its form.

They're trying to fight the death devil so they want Denji as strong as possible, so they have to make as many people as possible fear chainsawman so he can be strong enough to eat it and erase death from existence

But if no one dies won't devils lose their power thus ending the story?

No they'll still be afraid of things, death just won't be one of em.

Like you can be claustrophobic without thinking about dying from it, shyt is just extremely uncomfortable. Same with darkness, shyt is just disorienting and uncomfortable

It may be a twist, like once people don't fear death they'll be able to "truly live their lives"

a lot more than that happened but that was one of the effects of the events of the end. Just noticing patterns.

ngl I hate that the focus shifted from asa mitaka

was really getting attached to her as a character and thought her arc was shaping up to be fire. then she just fades out so we can see denji being depressed again for chapter after chapter. i'll wait til the arc is done before I judge tho
