Silva has underrated BJJ but its hard to imagine Chael finishing him because Chael lacks any real KO power and Chael submitting Wanderlei..... that's just.... just vulgar :scusthov:

He sub'd Shogun....

Not gonna call Shogun's BBJ subpar, but he has a history of getting submitted by lower ranked grapplers and his knees are about 105 years old, lol.

Wandy has never been submitted in MMA and has a more active guard than Shogun. Not saying he can't be submitted, but it'd be shocking to see a guy not even ranked in BJJ, submit him

I don't even know where to begin with this post :heh:

Other than Chael, Shogun has been only submitted by Forrest and Babalu in 29 total fights. Forrest has good and underrated BJJ [never been submitted and 7 sub wins], while Babalu has excellent BJJ [submitted only once in 49 career fights and has 19 sub wins]. Where did you get: 'history of getting subbed by lower ranked grapplers' from?

Shogun is pretty active off his back with leg locks and sweeps/reversals. From what I've seen from both fighters, Shogun is more active off his back.

Being ranked in BJJ can be deceiving. There are MMA fighters who are not ranked at all, that have good to great BJJ (Jon Jones and Matt Hughes are two examples). Although Sonnen might not be ranked in BJJ, he has the skills equivalent to at least a brown belt. Also, his BJJ is underrated and has improved quite a lot.

Babalu just got his BBJ black belt in 2010, Shogun has been a black belt since Pride days. Shogun is "ranked higher" than Babalu, but has a much lesser grappling record and history than Babalu. Forrest is still a Brown Belt and was a brown belt when he subbed a Black Belt Shogun. Granted, MMA is different than grappling, but Shogun's grappling history in MMA speaks that he hasn't implemented his grappling effectively compared to his peers.

Shogun has good sweeps but has never tapped anyone with a leg lock in MMA and IMO has a less active guard then what I've seen from Wandy.

And you are incorrect on Matt Hughes, he possesses a Black Belt, JJ does not (I believe he's a blue now). And Sonnen is one of MMA's greatest wrestlers, he has an Olympic background in wrestling. And I'm familiar with his implementation of wrestling to grappling, I've done BJJ for 3 years but prior to that, I had 6 years of high school and college wrestling, so I know how much wrestling can help your top game.
