Wakanda thrived and survived on bytchassness and c00n principles. They had the most advanced society and resources in the world, yet stayed hidden away in fear of inferior white societies. You’re lying too. As other posters have already pointed out, the wakandans threw the traditions out of the window win their guy lost the challenge. Kilmonger followed the traditions. He became king fair and square and everything he did after that was under his discretion as king. You can’t even keep it real dude.

Honestly, it's pretty cool that this movie has led to these kind of conversations. Never would expect that from any Marvel movie. I knew the Black Panther comics dealt with this kind of shyt before, but I never would have expected to hear them talk about how the government brought in drugs and guns to the black communities in a MARVEL film.

This film is undeniably black, whether you agree with T'Challa or Killmonger

We were talking about this in the film room. He was right, even in the movie T'Challa acknowledges he was right and ends up helping black people at the end of the movie.

It kills me when cats pick and choose panels from the comics showing Kilmonger saying stuff like this but then skip or be completely in the dark about the part where in the comics he's the leader of his own technologically advanced city in wakanda with billions of dollars and tech at his disposal but doesn't do shyt else but try to annoy T'Challa and take over the rest of Wakand out of spite. Then when he did it the first fukking thing he did was try to join the Avengers

Killmonger wasn't wrong but he was also an extremist who is willing to go hard on ANYONE. He has more of a desire to accomplish something out of spite than do something helpful out of compassion. He wants to overthrow the white oppressors, but at the same time doesn't really care about black lives if they create an inconvenience for his agenda. Shot his girlfriend to grab Klaw and choked out an old lady for not burning the herbs right away. Would have killed T'Challa's mother and sister if they didn't get away. I feel like a lot of "conscious" black leaders have this same problem, where they like the idea of overthrowing white society but they also treat black people as accessories.

Ultimately, that's what makes Killmonger the villain for me. He had the right idea, but was doing it the wrong and far too ruthless to be justifiable leader.

This kind of complaint from the black audience is kind of funny. Wakanda really didn't have to do shyt and really there was no real reason for them to care as long as they protected their own tribes. Before the European invaders, there wasn't this idea of "blackness" that we have now. A lot of these African tribes/countries didn't fukk with each other like that. There was no "PanAfrican" unity yall dream about now. Why do you think it was so easy for Europeans to invade the continent? Many of these countries were divided and there were few alliances. Wakanda staying out of the other countries affairs is pretty reasonable from a logical standpoint. They didn't identify with those other countries like that. Their mentality was no different from any other country's.

They definitely weren't afraid of the Cacs either. Cac invaders got massacred with ease whenever they tried to cross them borders
