Although demographics does not mean guaranteed economic power (i.e sub-Saharan Africa) its a great advantage. The Black population in America will remain proportionally (i.e percentage of overall population and not raw number of individuals) the same for a long time hovering around 13-15% of overall population while Asian and Latino will increase in terms of proportion.

Black women have sone of the highest fertility rates in the US I don't know why that doesn't translate to solid population growth

Immigration. Latinos that are native to the US have a decent number of kids and then their numbers get reinforced with people hopping the border.

If we could get Nigerians, Senegalese, Ghanians etc., coming over in crazy numbers...that black percentage would grow exponentially. We're the oldest group outside of Native Americans. The vast majority of black Anericans' ancestors arrived between 1619 and 1808 (when international slave trade was "outlawed" in the US). Many whites/Asians/Latinos didn't have people arrive until after the Civil War.
