Because WWE books him there. U don’t know the entertainment industry works? The Company Publicist books him and gets him gigs.

But he’s not in DEMAND.

He’s making a push for mainstream relevance. But he is far from a household name like The Rock or even Stone Cold or Hogan. He’s about where Batista is.

He’s “John Cena: Proffesional Wrestler” He’s not just JOHN CENA yet.

WWE has the power to book him to host shows on 3 different networks?

Backstage News On A Major Potential WrestleMania 34 Match - WrestlingInc.com

if it ends up being Hogan i'm permanently tossing the network in the bushes
“Noted that Cena is in a much bigger match than styles”

This once again suggests they don’t plan on prominently featuring the very best they have today (not to mention one of their most over guys) and instead plan on him going out there within the first 3 matches while having huge plans for a 40 year old part timer who has been portraying the same bland, one dimensional, stale, and overexposed character for what would be 13 years straight by that point. My god why couldn’t WCW have put these fools out of business 20 years ago :snoop:? AJ is one of the few bright spots that keeps their weekly shows from being 1999-2000 wcw levels of bad. That also leaves open the possibility of Roman winning the rumble again. That can’t possibly go over much better than 2014 or 2015. At this rate I’ll probably be canceling my subscription after the rumble :beli:

Let's just call a thing a thing: At this point A.J. Styles would be hard pressed to carry Taker to a decent match. Dude is done. This match is way too late and makes no sense. What's the story? You got Taker who shows up once a year to battle Cena who has one and a half feet out the door. For why? No tea, no shade but if they were gonna bring back a legend for a one night only Wrestlemania moment, they should see if they can get that HBK/AJ match to happen. That way they'd be at least giving a rub to a guy carrying the company into the future. That's a passing of the torch type moment. Cena vs Taker has zero story and does zero for the company going forward.

On a personal level I don't know if I'd even want to see HBK/AJ though, tbh. Regardless of how you feel about HBK, he laid down a great blueprint for dudes to follow when it comes to retirement. Go out on a high note that tells an incredible story and honors the career you've had and mean it when you say you're done. So many cats stay in the game 5-10 years too long and go out with a whimper instead of a roar or keep coming back and look worse every time. Say what you will about the dude, he did it right.

that’s what happens when there’s a 70 year old stubborn lunatic who thinks things aren’t supposed to be good running the company :snoop:

i honestly don’t think shyt will change until he steps down or loses some creative power and the entire company gets an overhaul

Meltzer was very careful to say its not officially undertaker just that its one of the people to guess but it is someone who's bigger than the belt......
No way its Hogan either. Batista's the only guy in shape but he was slow on his last run and Cena v Batista is not a dream match at all, its been happened. Sting and Daniel Bryan aren't cleared and wont be, Punk aint coming back.

Kurt Angle? Jeff Hardy? idk...

Watch them book Shane vs Cena though:dead:

:patrice:

Batista has been in two succesful franchise movies, a highly anticipated sequel, about to be in a movie with a billion dollar budget and has his own action franchise on deck now.

Cena's most recent movie got buried on the same weekend that Batista's bosses dropped Star Wars.

In terms of entertainment outside wrestling - he has way more cachet than Cena. :ld:

It’ll only get worse when Stephanie takes over. She inherited all of his worst qualities and none of his good ones.

It's like Vince keeps holding his finger by the trigger and backs out at the last second...
Vince ought to be ashamed of himself for giving Taker's 1st WrestleMania L to Brock or anybody before having Cena face him at WrestleMania. I could say how Taker could have faced Cena here and there but it would be :coffee: Status at this point so :yeshrug:

This Match however will make me brush the dust off my WWE Network and watch unfortunately just to see it and I think Vince knows that, I may even turn on Raw again for a hype segment.

The match is AT LEAST 5 years too late. I have zero interest.
If this match was going to happen, 2007-09 was the time for it to happen. Someone already mentioned, Cena has one foot out the door and taker should’ve retired years ago. Both will go away after the match and that leaves nothing to build on for later in the year. That means this match shouldn’t happen, and it also means there’s a decent chance it will happen.
