It’s mostly a means of needling his insecure stanbase since they feel a compulsive need to make a million Kobe related threads a week here even though he hasn’t been relevant as a basketball player since about five years ago. Some don’t like him, but a good amount are just flipping those same moronic arguments back on Kobe stans.
I see.
Well, let me tell you why I don't like Lebron.
I have always felt Lebron was great, but overrated. His mental strength was in question for a good stretch of his career, then he went to Miami, and it made me question his competitive nature. At this point, I see a guy with a lot of great individual stats, but without the championship rings to
match the stats. That is noteworthy because, unlike other players on or around his level, they have more rings in a similar span of time, without having orchestrated two mini-All Star starting rosters, on two separate squads.
Granted, some of those losses are a lot more understandable than others. However, he lost Finals that make no sense. He should've never lost to the Spurs, and he especially shouldn't have lost to Dallas. Lebron is also, primarily, a rim attacker, who has shot under 40 percent in two Finals. How? Lebron never just parks out on the perimeter and shoot jumpers like Jordan and Kobe, as his primary offense. He's a rim attack and transition guy. Also, I don't know where he ranks now, but when he was on Miami, Miami had the lowest shooting percentage in history outside of 5 feet. Do you realize how crazy that sounds for a player of his caliber?
On a last note, I've noticed that Lebron has had a tendency to fill up the stat sheet through 3 1/2, disappear in the 4th, then his fans say it wasn't his fault they lost, because, you know, look at his statline. Even in this thread, someone is pointing to Lebron stats, despite the fact that they were losing. Dude, stats don't make a player entirely. Any NBA player, given enough talent, if they were to focus on just compiling stats, they'd have better stats than they would if they just went out there and played how they usually play. Russell Westbrook showed no signs of being a double-double threat, and suddenly he's possibly about to average back to back triple-doubles? I also feel Lebron has been one of those guys who was obsessed with his numbers. Didn't he, just a few weeks ago, post his statline on IG saying someone like, 'I did my job"? Nothing wrong with stats, but when other things seem to be lacking, it makes it look like you're playing for stats.
That being said, I consider him a tremendous talent, but not a great winner. Him taking that Cleveland team to the Finals is all well and good, but Iverson did the same with a weak team, and had it not been for Lebron, Kyrie, and Love, lil' Isaiah would have likely done the same. At least in Iverson's case, he got a game off of the Lakers, who hadn't taken an L the entire playoffs.
