Just did a rewatch before binging S2 tomorrow. Overall, it is still pretty solid all things considered.

  • Richter, Maria and Annette all debuted as good characters, each having room to grow. Annette and Richter developed in their own way. Annette learning more patience, which is important because losing Tera is big and there is a whole she can fill. Richter overcoming his past was good, but with Alucard joining, I am curious if this can raise his level. Maria, I imagine get more focus with her father. But man episode 1 saw Richter watching his mother die before him and the last episode had him see him losing his adoptive mother :francis:
  • Emmanuel as an immensely frustrating character. It felt more in his role to help them help the gang save Maria rather than Mizrak. I guess for him, he put all of his belief in God, but that doesn't excuse him turning on those that he loves. Lost the woman he fell in love with. I could see them with a redemption arc tho that might also toss him in the bushes.
  • I am curious what Olrox and Alucard interactions will be like if we get them. He feels more human than the rest of the vampires. He suffered loss and wanted revenge, and he killed Richter's mom. After he was still looking to fill the void. Perhaps this could lead to a case where Richter moves on without his revenge against Olrox.
Curious how they go about this since this is another 8 episodes. :lupe:

All I want is more Juste Belmont he might want the smoke with Ulrox that was his daughter , we already know Alucard also in the cut. Season should be dope.

Great improvement over the first season , there was some smart dumb dialogue I'm the middle, but they landed the ending I give it 7.5/10. Lots of action, Juste , Maria and Richter getting busy, Alucard getting busy, great final boss fight.

Agreed. It builds on the first season very well. The natural progression works well here. Personally, would give it an 8/10. If this does get a continuation I am curious what they would do.

  • Well coming in I didn't expect Richter and Annette to end up, but there was the one scene in the attic. Liked how they build off each other.
  • Man I did not expect Maria to kill her father. But it makes all sense. My god was he an annoyance. I do like the path of her understanding to use tool for good when her father gave it up. But I fear about her going forward. That anger within her at the end. Tera does not truly feel like the same Tera and that thing that appeared when Maria's father died.
  • Loved with what they did with Juste Belmont. Just like his grandson he found himself. Though for him saving Maria was a second chance for him as he separated away from his daughter.
  • Olrox was interesting. As this time he saved Mizrak, so the void he lost is filled. He coming back was nice. Still the whole thing of him and Richter isn't done. Richter was able to swallow up his want for revenge which was good because everyone who got their revenge just felt empty.
  • Villains wise it wasn't too bad. Just meh mostly. The standard is Dracula, which is a top-tier villain by all accounts. The typical people thought they were doing what their goddess wanted, but we know that isn't true.
  • Alucard and Richter working together was outstanding at the end. Alucard remembering how it was with Trevor is a nice nod and Richter understanding what it means to be a Belmont bit by bit.

I agree, it was good just missing a lil umph to take it to X-Men 97 levels. My only gripe was the singing breh. And the lack of strategy/direction but it was solid.
