I remember almosst not watching this fight, castillo fought an eliminator prior a couple months so i figured "i just seen this guy fight a few months ago i aint trippin on this shyt" but i just said fukk it and watched it and i dont regret it at all, greatest fight i have ever had the pleasure of witnessing. Both fighters were finished after it and it was tragic what happened to diego, but its an experience ill never forget.

on boxingscene there was a huge argument that castillo should have been able to finish the fight, but i think it was just emotions running high, castillo was clearly defenseless. I seriously thought Diego was finished. lmao. what a fukking fight. the second mouthpiece spit out was legendary, he HAD to do that, no matter what he was going to lose. Im looking over at my stepfather like "he might have bought himself some time but hes done", but chico landed a shot and Castillo was sent reeling, it was so subtle, but then he kept landing, i stood up in awe no bullshyt :wow: when tony weeks waived him off i couldnt believe what i witnessed.

my stepfather is american so he described it as "hagler and hearns...for an entire fight" at that point i was 22 so i hadnt had a chance to see it but when i did, i understood what he meant.

edit: only reason i watched the fight because i had no hos currently lined up that saturday night. i had to take a loss, but in reality, allah wanted me to witness history.

RIP to a damn legend. This fight brings me back.

The fukkin will from both fighters. This why i appreciate slugers. They might not be the most skilled or technical but thats all heart an will displayed in that video. Thats a warrior.

Mad that I missed this fight when it happened. I stopped watching boxing for awhile that year after Tyson quit on the stool in his last fight...That was like watching superman die by drowning since I watched him from the 80s up until then.
