the narration is part of what makes the movie great. it's like listening to some old wise guys tell the stories of their glory days. as a matter of fact, listening to the mafia guys consulting on the movie is what inspired scorsese to include the narration.

It is to me. I watch the entire 3 hour film and not blink once. Its a classic beyond a classic.
