Was this years essence festival great or buzz? Outside of the cash money drama and busta rhymes, I haven’t heard much else.

Essence is always great. The performances were okay nobody really brought the house down this year. But the vibe for Essence and the associated activities is unbeatable.

For me it was ok. It was great that this was the first time since Covid, that the shows ended at a reasonable time instead of 3. The negative was a few disappointing performances and the fact that Kamala Harris showed up on Friday, which lead to increased security, which lead to people standing in the rain to get through security or leaving entirely, which resulted in Busta performing to an empty stadium
