Hollister got one of my favorite R&B songs ever (My Favorite Girl), but didn’t he go the Gospel route at some point? Guess that didn’t keep.

Still, should be an interesting project. Hopefully it turns out well.

Yep. He was the choir director at a church near Memphis and was preaching. Did a gospel album in 2008 and went back to R&B in 2014. He still preaches tho and he founded a church in California.

:blessed:

Thet are singers: as long as the voice is there, time has no effect on them.

They are different from rappers.

Hope it’s not 15 years too late, but I’ll def be checking the music when it drops.

IMO - Carl Thomas’ debut “Emotional” is one of the best albums in the Bad Boy library.

Absolutely. That album works all the time :banderas:

That GOAT word getting thrown around too loosely breh
They second tier RnB acts

Eh, I can entertain "goat" being misconstrued and being synonymous with older and having some success. I hear what you are saying KS.

For me, catalogue, nostalgia, hype, writing credits, features (being featured on other tracks) contribute to goat status. But the true goat conversation does not happen in a vacuum. You have to look at other comparable artists at the time. I enjoy their music but they may or may not be goats. I can walk that back a little.

We in off the strength of Carl Thomas. He would have had a hell of a career under someone who knew what to do with an R&B act.

Diddy just used his acts as glorified hook singers for his rappers
