Swimming is one of the best methods of cardio period. I don't do it because I don't like what pro-longed exposure does to your skin but it really is the best method of carido. You'll end up dead tired afterwards but during the actual swim you feel great and free.

Just play full court basketball breh. It’s not monotonous. You get HIIT mixed in too

I hate cardio as well.
My (limited) advice is to always mix it up. Doing only one form of cardio exercise (e.g. long jogging sessions. Which you shouldn't do as it wears down your knees) will get very boring very quickly. Also after a short while your body will get used to it and you won't be making any gains.
I mix up my cardio in the gym. I use the treadmill, elliptical, rowing maching, cycle machine at every gym session.
