How do I insure my future daughter doesn't get surgery done like other women and love herself instead?
Make sure the standards of beauty that she's exposed to isn't just from the machine.
Show her depictions of black female characters dark skinned, light skinned and between in a positive light. Show her movies, tv shows, cartoons, books where a black women with a natural body, natural hair is seen as beautiful.
Explain to her how these corporations push a certain beauty standard for profit, an agenda etc.. and they have no actual merit to them.
Nurture her skills, have her be proud of things outside of her physical beauty. I know women who's parents nurtured their talents and skills and they would like to be known for those things far more than their looks.
Teach the importance of healthy eating and exercise. A lot of women were brought up in homes where they were fed unhealthy foods and as a result they became overweight. A lot of them run to a surgeon's table.
Same thing goes for boys. Young men are out here going to extremes, taking steroids and drugs to achieve a certain look which often times permanently damages their homonral system because they don't know what they are doing.
