OP needs to give it a rest already. There is like less than 10 female rappers and they be extra hypocritical when it comes to them. Thousands of rappers are a bad influence but we suppose to stay stuck on 5 rappers just because they are women
I mean that ain't even an exaggeration. Think about it. On a mainstream level out of thousands of rappers over the decades, those are the main women that you could say could "negatively influence' young girls
But that is a drop in the bucket for all the male rappers that like you said call women bytches and hoes, or the ones that rapped about drugging women before Cardi Cosby did. Rapped about killing people. Ran around tour stages and in public sagging their pants. Getting into shootouts outside of studios. Beating up women on the regular.. Bragging about drugs they use to sell in the 80s.

You don't HAVE to be a fan of anybody. The point is guys don't use the same energy when it comes to positive shyt. I like Janelle Monae is extremely boring but I can respect and praise her talent.

this thread went in a million different directions lol but i'll weigh in as probably one of the few dudes here who actually listens to cardi & city girls (man card revoked for actually bumpin girl code lmao). i think thotty rap has its place in the game the same way street rap does..... and i love street rap. 4 out of my top 5 current favorite rappers are pusha t, 38 spesh, westside gunn and benny the butcher and every last one of them nikkas promotes drug dealing and clappin nikkas. yet i ain't cut from that cloth at all. i'm just some square nikka from brooklyn who treats people with kindness, ain't never sold a drug or been to jail in my life and talks about what moves the yankees need to make at the deadline with my little brother on the daily
i would assume it's the same for these chicks. that these artists' content isn't necessarily reflective of their overall life philosophy. now maybe on some level i momentarily live vicariously though the street nikka on some fantasy shyt and perhaps they do the same with the thotty bytches... i dunno, that's getting deep with the psychoanalysis lol. but point is that i think if anything is problematic is that we don't have any female rappers in the mainstream to offset the imagery of the city girls and cardi & not the mere fact that they make hypersexualized-misandrist-stunt on nikkas-get money rap music. which i know sounds weird coming from a dude because i can't stand hoes in real life who carry it that way. separate issue altogether though..... i just take it as entertainment and move on bro. same with the dysfunctional prison industrial complex rap. i say "oh shyt that was a hot line, this nikka benny a problem B" and move on with my life
