But When people think of sports cars, its usually corvettes, vipers, ford gt.

Toyota has had pretty good reliability so you're getting a pretty good vehicle that will last a while. My issues are that they are ugly and if you're gonna pay nearly 35-40,000 for a fully loaded Avalon, then you might as well get a Lexus.... which are also ugly to me.

I'd rather drive an entry class Audi or Mercedes for that price or a little more.
