It was asked “why are they making this movie, no one asked for it?” 5 years ago or so when they announced it.
It was clowned and laughed at, at the thought of grossing just $500M and even 2 years ago it was said it wouldn’t be no where near $820M.
Then all last year and even up to this spring all these cats called Brie all kinds of names and even though there has been (and currently still are) other flat ass female superhero’s (even though she has titties unlike these other flat chested A cup AND flat ass stop signed figured broads) overall she’s vindicated and loved.

I watched it this weekend. Kind of boring to be honest. By the last 30 minutes I was tapped out. The lead actress was boring as hell. She didn't do anything with the role or develop a personality at all. Cardboard lead. SLJ was pretty good as usual and his role the way they integrate this into the storyline is goat level. Had the execution been better, this could easily have gone to 8 stars in my book.
The origin story handling sucked. They really didn't do a good job of constructing any of it well enough for you to feel immersed in these worlds the way Thor does with Asgaard. The super power reveal was even worse as she just starts doing shyt. There are so many contradictions that make zero sense:
So, she's basically a human battery and they had her in their control, but instead of sticking her skinning ass in a generator, they send her out on missions just waiting for her to regain her memories at the worst time. And, even if they did you've got a hero with super powers you're not goign to teach her to use them to help you conquer your enemies???
That little girl was a terrible actress too, combination of corny dialogue and weak skills.
As expected, they pulled the usual girl power bullshyt. Boys vs. girls and when you've seen that enough you immediately know who the villain is going to be. If all tehse movies could just focus on making a good female lead instead of turning the scripts into feminist grad school projects, they'd make better movies. They even played "I'm just a girl" in the final fight But the soundtrack was
