North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
They making us watch this so we can be caught up for end game next month.

This would be a straight up rental otherwise.:francis:

It took place in 1995. How does any of the movie connect to end game :dead: thanos has all of the stones and used them all.

How exactly does a origin story tie in to events that take place 23 years after the fact?

This is called marvel fatigue.

Its widely accepted that the first Avenger is skip worthy.

Here is his review.

Notice how he glosses over the flaws. Notice the enthusiasm in his voice.

It got an RT score of 80. Basically the same as CM

Nothing impresses him as much anymore.

If he reviewed this in 2011, his take on it would probably be different.

Nah, better than all those movies. By decent margins too. Wonder Woman was alright because DC finally woke up and tried to follow the MCU formula. If that was an MCU movie, it'd be one of the lower tier ones

imagine thinking this trashfest is better than BvS or even josstice league.. take them nikkas nuyts out your mouth dumbass..

Wonder Woman is miles ahead of this shyt.. and they didnt need to push an agenda

and lets not talk about how AquaGOAT and MOS are far superior than 80% of the mcu...

Tell that to the people Fandango polled for this movie

Fandango polled 1,000 of its users about what they’re most anticipating about the film:

• 98% are looking forward to seeing how Captain Marvel connects to the ongoing Avengers storyline
• 92% are looking forward to the movie’s ’90s setting.
• 75% are looking forward to seeing the “de-aging” process used on Samuel L. Jackson to portray a younger Nick Fury and on Clark Gregg as rookie Agent Coulson.

I would put Captain Marvel and Captain America 1 on the same level IMO. Honestly, this movie is basically a Phase 1 placed at the tail end of Phase 3. I

Agent Fury being the stand out tells you a lot.

CM/CD came across bland and plain throughout the entire movie.

Might be Brie Larson... (& I don’t think she’s a bad actress, she was dope in The Room)

I was so uninterested in this flick until about halfway through it. It picked up and became watchable once she finally went to Maria's house, but before that the film was all but forgetable.

Didn't read all the replies in here, but I thought this movie was gonna be heavy on retconning to correct some plot holes and loose ends, but instead actually ended up making things on a minor level messier.

*Edit* MY bad, forgot to spoiler it, lol

A few other minor questions but those are the first ones that came to mind.

Also, the clowning and criticism of Brie's running is spot on :mjlol:

Don't care for Superhero films or Marvel like that. With that in mind, I thought this was a good movie. Maybe a 8.5 or 9 out of 10. I've read a lot of reviews saying that Brie Larson brought the movie down, but I liked her character and I thought Carol had enough personality :yeshrug:

My favorite parts of the movie was probably Carol and Fury's synergy whenever they were on screen together, and the things with the Skrulls was a nice spin.

Oh, and the scenes with the cat were straight:pachaha::skip::mjlol:

Overall,I'd watch another Captain Marvel movie. This was a good origin story :ehh:

Basically.

it was an origin story right before the peak of the third act of the wider story

Kinda like that last piece of broccoli you have to eat before you're allowed dessert. I don't really blame them for making it the way they did.

Why take a huge chance when you're right at the doorstep of putting the last piece of this 22 film, 10 year long puzzle together? :manny:

They aimed for centre mass and kept it moving. :ehh:

So her Starforce name was Vers :lupe:
How did she go from that to using "Captain Marvel"?
Was that explained in the movie, did I miss it?

I

I thought the movie was ok :yeshrug:
