All of the reviews I normally use when it comes to comic book movies were entertained. Was it a instant classic? No but it was this characters first solo flick.
And it has a 85 on RT so far.

That all said, yeah the after credits scene midway was nice and
Im a casual Marvel fan at best, I stopped reading the comics heavy after Civil War....so I was a little surprised to see the Skrulls were actually the good guys in this because I just remember them from Secret Invasion. I guess its good in a way cause I was kinda dreading them being the big bad post Thanos and getting a ton of bait and switch shape shifter storylines in the next decade of MCU movies. Brie was okay I guess but there was nothing charismatic about the character just sorta hard nose female hero. There was a bit too much goofiness even from Fury but it wasnt also Ant man with it.
Pretty light even for a Marvel movie. There was of course a lot of 90s pop songs in there, mostly female based which I noticed like Hole, Garbage, TLC Salt n Pepa and Gabrielle. Probably have more constructed thoughts tomorrow, might need a second viewing but i see it as just okay. Watchable but not great a sold 3.5/5

it sets up and bridges Captain Marvel and Endgame exactly how you thought it would. In fact Im guessing that the entire post credit scene here will be repeated in the movie for those that missed it here or need to see where she was in between

People don't go to RT to read the reviews. That's literally why RT exists at this point.
Not saying that's right, or how the site was intended to be used....but people look at the RT score and operate off that. For every movie. And them arbitrarily giving a Fresh or Rotten score seemingly independent of what the review actually says isn't a new thing, either.
