Yeah, I don't think they are gonna do that. And M. Spellman was head writer of the series him doing the movie is a natural progression.

I hate that they won't give Sam powers

Neither Tony Stark or Natasha have powers and people hype them up. I think this could work but yeah, it would be cool if Sam accidently acquired a few abilities. I'll support him in this new suit though, it's credible force coming from Wakanda.

I like the fact that Sam can hold his own amongst Super Soldiers, Aliens, Robots and Magicians without any enhancement. They can try and clown him all they want but he's still one of the best fighters on the Avengers when you take that into account

I think they'll go with the upcoming United States of Captain America (or Captain America Corps) arcs. Basically, different people take up the Cap banner..perhaps different names, to fight against the BS of the world. But I'd want to see Sam give up the mantle for all of that to happen.

Also was the writer for that "Confederate" show on HBO that got killed before it came out. Apparently he and his wife felt marginalized by the black community because there was a successful campaign to keep a show about the south winning the war and slavery still being legal from airing.

The original Captain America gave his chosen successor the shield at the end of Endgame. Even if you haven't watched the show certain assumptions can be made simply by that act alone.
