yeah and people taking home loans they knew they couldn't afford wasn't any part of it.
You are right they were part of it, but that still points back to the flaws of a capitalist society.

you really going to name EU countries? if anything their social welfare states have created the mess they're in.
EU is a new born baby their issues have nothing to do with there ideology of social welfare
Don't get me wrong I do think a capitalist society is the way to go, but as of right now in American history the capitalism is holding us back.
Most people agree on the things that we need to improve in order to move the country forward. Energy, Education, healthcare, Gov resources, infastucture, tax code, and on and on. The only thing all these issues have in common is that we can't get any of them done due to capitalisms hold on the American government.
They say money is the root of all evil, and America has been concerned only with money for a long time. It's time for a change. We need to do what's right for our country not our bank accounts.
Thank you
*steps off soapbox*
You got to have it one way or the other-- Capitalism or full-on socialism.
Socialism will just have one result in the Long-term and that is what has happened in Europe and American. The corporations (mainly finance and Arms manufacturers) have their hands in all branches of government because they want control the regulatory environment.
I was just interviewing with a firm, and the General Partner and founder of the firm is constantly in Washington lobbying to keep certain regulations in place because his firm greatly benefits from those regulations.
so it's socialism fault that corporations run the country.
Regulatory capture occurs when a state regulatory agency, created to act in the public interest, instead advances the commercial or special interests that dominate the industry or sector it is charged with regulating. Regulatory capture is a form of government failure, as it can act as an encouragement for large firms to produce negative externalities. The agencies are called "captured agencies".
^^^^^That's capitalism
Socialist countries are not against capitalism. Communist countries are against capitalism.so instead of naming socialistic societys you went straight to communistic country's .
Australia, England, New Zealand, Holland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, France, Finland, Italy, Portugal, Switzerland, Luxembourg are all successful countries. Hell most of the EU practices socialism and all are successful outside of a few countries.
I just really dislike a lot of what the government does and I think markets left to themselves do things more efficiently.
