Don't get me wrong I do think a capitalist society is the way to go, but as of right now in American history the capitalism is holding us back.

Most people agree on the things that we need to improve in order to move the country forward. Energy, Education, healthcare, Gov resources, infastucture, tax code, and on and on. The only thing all these issues have in common is that we can't get any of them done due to capitalisms hold on the American government.

They say money is the root of all evil, and America has been concerned only with money for a long time. It's time for a change. We need to do what's right for our country not our bank accounts.

Thank you

sounds like you want a little socialism in ya life...

can capitalism and private industry coexist with socialism?

Yes, and they have been all along. Medicaid is a socialist idea. Tax breaks credits are socialist ideas. In fact those that benefit most from capitalism(rich people) also benefit from the socialist ideas in this country(tax breaks, credits)
Which is why the middle class is going down the drain. The burden has been put squarely on the shoulders of working Americans.

Name one truely non-capitalist country that has a successful economy.

Cuba?
North Korea?
China has sacrificed communist ideals and promoted capitalism. Look where they are now.
Russia is no longer communist and has turned to capitalism to grow their economy.

Read the first sentence

My point is, in trying to keep up with this notion of capitalism, we ignore things that should be done just because they do not fit in with capitalist ideas.

For example, we all know healthcare is fukked up in this country. It's expensive, inefeciant, and not of very good quality overall. We can never make any real changes or improvements to healthcare because capitalism is standing in the way.

I understand capitalism breeds innovation and competitiveness, but some things don't need inovation and competitiveness, they just need to work right.

so instead of naming socialistic societys you went straight to communistic country's :what:.
Australia, England, New Zealand, Holland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, France, Finland, Italy, Portugal, Switzerland, Luxembourg are all successful countries. Hell most of the EU practices socialism and all are successful outside of a few countries.

For some reason, a lot of people think we aren't allowed to change things that worked for us in the past, but are no longer as beneficial as they once were.

Money has become TOO important in today's society and the overall welfare of the people has taken a backseat as a result. We need balance and regulation.

In capitalism there is only one culture that can stabalize everything and unfortunately its the culture of satan. Shame you people wont be able to figure it out until you're old and feeble minded.

Capitalism creates self absorbed people
Self absorbed people create b*stard children
b*stard children create crime and degeneracy
Degenerates overpopulate the planet
The culture of self is unable to sustain the numbers of people being created by such a careless way of life
Demonic measures are needed
Abortions are rampant
Murders are rampant
Slavery becomes rampant
People want to be put back to sleep so they do not have to look in the mirror and make angelic changes
Eugenics is adopted

Its so demonic, friends.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately too. Most people I knew in undergrad were studying some sort of business major (finance, accounting, marketing, etc) but science/engineering majors were in far less numbers. It seems like the focus of education in the US is learning how to make the most money. When you compare the number is business majors to science majors, not too many people are in school to advance technology or develop new medicines. The focus is on earning the most money.

I don't feel like looking for any statistics to back these ideas up, I'm just saying that's what it feels like.
