He had the wrong people around him and was stubborn. If someone pulls him aside and takes the Devil's Pie beat, along with whatever else Premier was trying to throw him, his career is likely different. It could have saved the first album, or elevated the second album into a real comeback.

I agree… to an extent. But wyclef was way more successful than canibus, even without Lauryn. Across multiple solo albums. So was it Clef? Or has canibus always been too stubborn/arrogant to take direction from people who could’ve helped him?
