I don't have a problem with the quality of opponent because on short notice I don't think it is worth the risk of taking a top tier fighter when you are already in camp preparing for a fighter.
However, if you are basically taking a guy of that caliber I would have picked a dude from Mexico (not sure if there are any around that ranking) to keep the marketing of cinco de mayo, maybe capture some Mexican fans interest who were on board with Canelo and keep "Mexican style" going. Makes more sense trying to sell the fight to me.
And are they still trying to sell this as a PPV? It isn't GGG's fault, but fukk his promoter and HBO if they are.
