Not sure how WNBA pay scales are structured but this would hurt someones money if it happened in the NBA. This could keep someone from being eligible for a super max contract.

Which is exactly what could have happened with AD and the Maria Taylor situation yet the media brushed it off and defended her reasoning. The WNBA coaches voted for All-Defensive teams and not the media, so obviously there is some disconnect between what the media saw and the coaches did as well.

She won DPOY so in the NBA that would be good enough to earn a super max contract. I'm assuming that would be the case in the WNBA as well if they do have that clause.

Right the larger issue would be that whoever deserved to get DPOY would miss out on a super max. Candace got money coming in from other places, that next person would miss that check.

I'm curious to hear the medias logic and reasoning for picking Candace Parker as DPOY compared to her peers. After what happened with Maria Taylor and other NBA reporters, they might not even bother. And they may not have to since (no offense to them) a lot of people don't care about what happens in the WNBA.
