But Candace is realistically right. It’s a new day and these 5’s can shoot 3s, you have to switch. Shaq saying he won a ring with PnR but that was 20 years ago. I hate new ball but you have to adapt to the play style

I mean, that's ultimately what analytics are about - getting easier baskets.

One thing that people sweep under the radar is even though the mid-range shot has dropped off, teams are shooting in the paint and at the rim at the same frequency that they have over the last 30 years. There are far less fouls called today despite the pace being faster. The league averaged 22 fouls and 26 FT's in '98 and 20 fouls/22 FTS today.
