True its painful living here sometimes esp since I cant stand hockey. But culture, standard of living still > all. I wouldn't ever move to the US

Yeah but it woulda been easier if the school supported the same way USA high schools do. Usually stars that make it donate a few million to a high schools athletic program to show their thanks.

But the difference in coaching/ recruiting is night and day for the US. US D1 scout "play for my team, I want you on right now". HS Cdn coach "U only came 5 minutes early for practice, i wanted you here earlier, u don't get at shot, f*ck what these D1 schools think of u"

Gotta respect talent. We only do that for hockey. And everything in this country seems to point right back to hockey

With Nash running team Canada now I'm pretty sure he can get top level talent to commit to the program. Problem with team Canada basketball is that it was run by joke bureaucrats who know nothing of the sports. Its the same shyt with every sport not called hockey here. Canada's soccer program is a joke too, mens at least. Cant get top talent to commit like David Hoilett who is killing it in England.

You can't get professional athletes to commit serious time and energy to something that isn't even run seriously. Huge problem with athletic credibility in Canada and no one cares enough to tackle it sadly. Places like Australia you get reports and inquiries into low medal counts, here not a thing.
