The matter came to light after the victim gave birth to a baby girl at a hospital on June 6. Doctors informed the police after they discovered that the mother was a minor.
Police then recorded the victim's statement. However, no complaint was filed in the case.
A month later, on July 6, the family members of the minor approached the police and lodged a case, alleging that the minor was raped on the hospital premises.
Subsequently, police arrested the tantrik and two others who worked at the hospital's parking area. A minor was also taken into custody.
"All the accused in the case have been arrested. The DNA of the victim's baby has been sent for examination, senior police officer, Pradeep said, adding that the report will be available after one month, which will clarify who is the actual father of the baby.
Meanwhile, the victim's father said that they used to live near the Panchayat Committee, where they became acquainted with the tantrik, Lakshman.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the victim's father started working at the Salumbar hospital. It was when his minor daughter fell sick, that the tantrik asked them to bring her to him, promising to cure her with his occult practices.
The minor was raped by the tantrik several times on the pretext of treatment.
