He had a weird connection with the crowd I guess cause he was an overweight cruiserweight but yet he was exciting and highflying too though and didn't fit the mold of a typical big man with how light he was on his feet.

Going to the greatest flamenco teacher in Mexico to learn his taunt
Learning how to play the chair like a guitar by watching mariachi bands at his local bar
The first time he catches someone who tries to crossbody him, and then does the dance while holding them, as the climax of the film
It finishes with a bunch of Luchadors saying "Yo Soy La Parka" like the end of 'Malcolm X'.

Part of the charm of La Parka and a lot of WCW characters back in the day is that they weren't over-explained. That's a lot of what makes wrestling great. As a kid, the announcers helped me understand that luchadores wore masks and wrestled a certain style, but I had NO idea why La Parka brought a chair to the ring outside of the fact that he was "The Chairman", and I just accepted that as normal because it's wrestling.
Kind of makes you miss the day of gimmicks without convoluted backstories. I'm surprised Dean Ambrose doesn't have a signature weapon by now.
To this day, I have no idea why Hacksaw Jim Duggan brings a 2x4 to the ring. It was probably explained a long time ago. Maybe, it wasn't...but when I see him, I expect him to have a 2x4 on deck with a thumb-up chanting U.S.A.

La parka was easily one of my fav mesican wrestlers and a reason to even watch wcw not named nwo. Swag out the ass. Wish he got more shine tho

How great would a La Parka/Eddie Guerrero mini-feud for the Cruiserweight title have been?
La Parka comes to the ring with the chair, wrestles the match of his life and shows out.
Right when he's about the win, Guerrero grabs the chair La Parka brought and does the old Eddie trick to get the DQ win.
La Parka gets another shot and decides not to bring the chair to the ring. Wrestles the match of his life again.
Referee gets distracted and we find out Eddie stole La Parka's chair. Whacks La Parka with it and DQ's himself.
Rubber match. No DQ. La Parka shows out again and goes the whole match without using the chair. He looks at it.
The crowd eggs him on to use it since it's legal.
Eddie begs on his knees.
La Parka goes to hit him with it....
Ends up hitting the top rope, bashes himself in the face with it on the rebound and gets KO'ed.
Eddie:
Frogsplash. 1,2,3.
La Parka comes to the ring with the chair, wrestles the match of his life and shows out.
