I love Futurama... I think the show can be just as clever as the Simpsons, a little more dry humor though...

You have to watch Futurama from the beginning to really appreciate a lot of the jokes and bits, whereas you can pick up the Simpsons from anywhere in its prime years and enjoy the hell out of it...

The early Simpsons made the shyt look effortless. They could weave anything into a literal laugh out loud moment.

*Homer eating peanuts...drops one*

*Screams, looks under couch for peanut*

*Finds $20*

Homer - $20?! :why: I wanted a peanut. :sadcam:

Brain - $20 can get you many peanuts. :mjpls:

Homer - Explain how. :hmm:

Brain - Money can be exchanged for goods and services.

Homer - Whoo hoo!

shyt that shouldn't be funny was amazing. They try too hard now. Organic humor is a lost art.

i grew up on the Simpsons. i remember the Bart Tee shirts and all that...but i stopped watching it years ago.

the last great episodes i remember are when Homer was abducted because he found out that flu vaccines made you buy more stuff for Christmas and when he had to flee the country because he owed PBS money and went to an Island to preach Christianity and just started licking frogs and hallucinating.

anytime i catch Futurama i really enjoy it. i think it is smart and pokes fun at current social dynamics which i imagine is difficult when the story is placed in the future.

I agree... I guess I should have said for the people that don't enjoy it, they should probably watch from the beginning...

The fact that it takes place in the future also gives it so much freedom for creativity... The characters they create on the show are fukking ridiculous like Clamp Bot and Hedonism Bot:skip:

Morbo always has me dying too with his Alien superiority complex

Nope and I like Futurama. It just never reached the plateau of greatness that was the Simpsons at one time. People fail to realize the writers that actually participated during that period when they were on fire. Conan, Phil Hartman and a gang of other talented writers when they were on the come up back then. Say what you will about it now but there was a time when the show was untouchable for multiple years. I just don't recall that ever happening with Futurama. Please be aware and know that I was around when those Black Bart shirts were in the hood and the whole Bart-Man song was popping back in the early 90s.

You can't compare futurama to the Simpsons.
Thats like comparing Woody Wood Pecker to Micky Mouse

And think about it.. if you watched Woody Wood Pecker.. he had funny cartoons.
Mickey Mouse? Not too many honestly. But you wouldn't dare compare the two because of the body of work

I went to NYC for my birthday in elementary school. Came back with a Don't have a Cow man T-shirt before they was being sold in stores.
Everyone was like "wooooow :wow:"
Then later that year everybody everywhere was selling them.
I can't recall a single episode from back then except the one's from the Tracey Ulman show :hula:
I'm rambling, but the point is there is too much the simpsons have done.
There wouldn't be a futurama na mean? (Tru Story)
