My personal theory is that the transfer portal and to a lesser extent NIL has evened the playing field alot

It's why we see the SEC struggling a bit

Cats tha were highly recruited but couldn't crack starting spot for P5 and Blue bloods can transfer and make a smaller program much better in one off season.

The SEC is struggling because of a bunch of turnover at QB and subsequent mediocre QB play. It’s been a minute since the whole conference was seemingly down with QBs or breaking in a new guy
