Can Someone Explain To Me Why D.L. Hughley Was on "Kings Of Comedy" Again 🤔?

DL to Comic View is like Martin Lawrence to Def Comedy Jam. DL has had a cooling off period, but he still one of the funnier black comedians in the game.

DL is more relevant right now so of course Katt is better to these coli nikkas and cacc00ns.

Never did get this. I will say that Bernie Mac (R.I.P.) was the funniest cat out of the bunch. Even the fact that Cedric The Entertainer was on their is something i dont get (although he has his moments........at times). Do you consider Hughley to be up their with the aforementioned?

I co-sign about DLH and I skip his entire part when I watch it, but Cedric is funny to me.

The whole list was a farce. Back then a true line up would have been Chris tucker, Martin Lawrence, Dave chaplle and Chris tucker. Jamie Foxx and Bill Bellamy would have been good backups

Dave Chappelle was just gaining steam back in 2000 when Kings of Comedy dropped though....his first HBO special was that same year..he didn't really popoff big until Chappelle Show.

Dl hughley held down comic view for a long time. He is a legend. He is a goat. Steve Harvey was terrible on Kings of Comedy. Yellin all loud and forced cursing.

DL should be considered just off his cutting skills. You do not want that man focusing on you in any aspect.

At that time, some people knew about Dave, but he did not have a huge drawing power like that for that kind of tour. I was big on Half Baked and all that, but not everyone. By the time Kings of Comedy came around, DL was big on Comicview for years, Ced and Steve Harvey were doing their thing for a while, and Bernie was considered one of the best in the game. Like someone else said, Chris Rock and Martin were too big for a split tour like that. Jamie Foxx is one of the few I think could have been one of the others on that tour if you replaced DL or Steve. He was already big on In Living Color and the Jamie Foxx Show was a hit around that time.

Thats true remember Katt williams found fault w/ Steve ( i for one agree). But D.L always came off as corny as fukk to me. And alot of his jokes seem forced as hell

My sister said this all he time& I would say the same when his radio show was on. Now his radio show is gone & Mike Love is back!!!

well on the original kings of comedy he stuff was utter garbage but other stands up , i've seen he had a few laughs here and there (he was forcing it though), but D.L. never really had that appeal to me . I'll give him credit on the fact he can handle a heckler but outside of that his routines are bland to me, trying to go a little to over the top to get a laugh instead of just being natural.
