That's been the booking in recent years. You can demand whatever you want regardless if you lost a contenders match, or even if you've rarely competed. Lana is getting 2 title shots out of Naomi

Yeah to get a title shot these days all you pretty much need to do is be the first to one to interrupt a promo/backstage promo or come out and a cut a promo yourself. Very rarely does anyone actually do anything to earn it these days.

Like if the champion is in the ring cutting a promo, and someone comes out to interrupt and cuts a promo on them/beats them up... 99% chance they get a title shot

Shouldn't there just be a big backstage brawl over people fighting to interrupt the champion first?

I love how a heel just has to beat up the baby face champ to get them angry and make a title match.

Then heel champs never want to defend and a GM has to make #1 contender matches.

Remember when Bryan had to win 3 on 1 matches to get title shots? When Eddie won the Smackdown Royal Rumble to get his shot? Nah..i haven't been beat one on one..except by Finn and Seth. Lol.

I know it's only wrestling but the fact that sometimes people have to fight for a title shot, and sometimes people just get them handed to them (Cena, Lana etc) just makes me so mad
