Can someone explain the logic behind spending money for "skins" in Fortnite

You have to be extremely out of the loop/living under a rock if you think this is a current thing or even a trend like fidget spinners... while games like League of Legends and DOTA 2 have made billions selling skins for half a decade

Or maybe we don’t really care for pc games like that

That's just microtransactions in general. These game companies see people shelling out hundreds of dollars for cosmetic skins, so they will never stop offering them.

yup

thats just the micro cash business. it's fully turned me off from mobile gaming and I avoid supporting any game heavy on this but I'm old school. New age kids don't see the problem with spending real money for virtual accessories on an avatar. in this case since the game is "free" I guess people can rationalize it but spending hundreds is scary dumb.

In retrospect it's kinda hypocritical to think this is insane (which it is) and then go and spend $700-1,000 on a cellphone (which is equally as crazy)

I just don't understand how someone could spend hundreds for outfits in a free game and not feel like they swallowed an L. I'd just feel depressed after realizing what I've done.
