Other than Luka, the Mavs player who always played pretty good against the Suns was Tim Hardaway Jr.I think he loved being the SG opposite to Book.I guess Dinwiddie will cancel him out, tho.I really have no idea what to expect. The Suns have yet to play this new version of the Mavs.I think their best formula would be for Luka to get the Suns in foul trouble & knock down 3's at a 40+ percent rate. From what I've seen, you either have to dominate the the boards, or be hot from 3pt range in order to beat the Suns this year.If you spread them out & get them scrambling on defense, they'll give up some good looks.I think the Mavs have the personel to pull it off.Luka's exceptional at finding the open man.The ATL Hawks always stomp a hole in the Suns azz by playing like that.Mavs might miss Porzingis in this matchup
True.I wouldn't expect Ayton to match Amare's level of aggression, but he'll never become the #1 option he has the potential to be if he continues with the passiveness. That & his ball handling.I saw him face up & attack Zonas a few times last series.Could go a long way in closing the gap in FT disparity.Teams always have a surplus of FT attempts when they play the Suns.Been that way all year.Pels shot 10+ ft's per game last series.I expect Luka to be at the line a lot.You can get away with it vs the Pels, but imagine trying to overcome that kind of FT disparity against a team like the Warriors? Al McCoy alluded to something deeper going on between the Suns organization & the refs.I'll save that discussion for a later time, tho.Ayton isn’t as physical as Amare but he’ll have longevity. Amare’s body broke down in like the 3rd season because of his style of play
This crowd is crazy
