No, they're not mixed. A lot of Igbo's are naturally light.
There are mixed West Africans, like a good portion of the Sierra Leone Krio people but your examples minus Ndamukong Suh are just typical Igbo dudes.
Not every African looks like Akon or Alek Wek.
Nah man you're just stereotyping Africans. I'm African on both sides and I know a good amount of people from my mom's country who are the same skin tone as Will Smith and I mean people I've met in Africa who can trace their family history generations back.
What feature of Osi is even remotely European looking? Is it the fact that he's not jet black?
Never said Osi was european looking. I don't know where you are getting that from.
It's funny how y'all want to attack me on the subject, but haven't said shyt to the threadstarter. The person who brought all this up. All I was doing is responding to the OP.
What is your opinion on threadstarter thinking?
You did imply he was European looking. You said you can tell by looking at him that he has European admixture. None of those African NFL players ever mentioned being mixed so one can only conclude that's what you mean when you said verbatim "just look at Osi Umenyiora, Nhamdi Asomugha, and Ndamukong Suh". If that's not what you meant why for any reason would you say out of the blue with no evidence that they have European in their gene pools?
I addressed TS on page 16.
I know but she gets a pass from me. Well she did until that swordfish movie...mixed
Never said he was mixed. I said you can tell he had european blood from a distant relative. Or a person bloodline from a person with a low concentration of Melanin in their skin. Meaning like from a great great great grandparent.
Let's throw away the term lightskin and darkskin. Lets discuss concentration of Melanin in a person skin.
The original people in the continent of Africa had a higher concentration of Melanin in their skin, than the people in Europe.
When a person with a high concentration of Melanin procreate with a person with very low concentration of Melanin, The offspring 90% of the time will have less concentration of Melanin in it skin, than the parent with a high concentration of Melanin.
It's very rare that multiple generations of people with high concentration of Melanin will produce offsprings with a low concentration of Melanin. Even with an albino offspring, it's rare for an albino person to produce an albino offspring if they are procreating with a person of high concentration of Melanin.
Africa is the most genetically diverse continent on the planet. There are major populations south of the Sahara with "relatively" low amounts of melanin but no European/Berber/Arab admixture. The Igbo's (SOME of them...there are definitely dark Igbos) just happen to have never had as much melanin as other blacks to begin with. There are Africans who just don't have as much melanin concentration as others.
The Khoisan of Southern Africa for example are one of if not the oldest human population but they lack the melanin concentration of Bantus, West Africans and Nilotic peoples who they predate.

Igbo people are the same way. They're light and always have been (SOME of them).
No saying these people have a small trace of European blood or not. But this region did go through a European colonial period and 5-8% of European genetic is traced to this region.
