Patriotic about what? The white man wasn't fighting for our independence, he was fighting for his own.

Integration was a joke.... we basically moved into white peoples house and we sleep in the basement.

We shoulda been focused on getting our OWN house and being self sufficient but now here we are.... dependent on white people for everything from protection (police), economic opportunities (jobs), our identity and education (schools + media), and access to resources (banks)... and because of that, we celebrate their victories like a bunch of unconscious c00ns when the reality is.... none of this shyt was meant for us..... we just decided to force our way into their institutions (their house) and way-of-life instead of building our own house (institutions)

but in due time, I believe the black community will rise.

We'll probably be elderly or dead before progress is made towards true black independence... but nikkas like HOV out here spreading the gospel of economic empowerment on a mass scale :blessed:

So we'll see..... I have hope.

You right but America still owe us so us "forcing or way" is just us forcing our way into the stuff we built for another group of people that have no merit.

The thing that gets me when people talk about the past - good, bad, or terrible - is that its irrevocable. And the only thing we, as of today, have influence over is the present and the future. In which case I just don't see the benefit gained from holding onto past grievances.

I'm patriotic to the Black people who were slaughtered and enslaved because of the flag. I stand and salute THEM when at games, I'm not thinking of anyone white. That flag means a lot to me and our Black ancestors. I've learned a long time ago to not be brain washed by mainstream thinking, that happens when you obtain knowledge of self. Our Black people DIED for that flag brehs, the same way that I look at the White House with pride, WE helped build that with our bare hands. Salute the people who died because of the flag, not those who created the government behind it.

What about black people who join the military out of a sense of duty? You don't believe that they are patriotic?
Most black pepole who join the service are looking for a way out of the circumstances they are in.
Whether be financial or just wanting to escape bum fukk"insert city" here..
I've had talks with my moms on why she served and it was basically trying to escape Arkansas and she thought she was too stupid for college..
My Uncle Leroy(rip) was a Vietnam vet and when he was coherent(ptsd) would always tell me..
"Young boy never join the military"
I did not get it until I got older and experience the shyt he was going through..
You go off to war, fighting for "liberties" only to come back in the same fukked up space due to cacs not wanting to give you jobs and cacs still treating you like a second class citizen after you have seen your homies heads blown off..
Amerikkka doesn't give two fukks about veterans (especially black men/women)..
These muthafukkas pretend to be all patriotic but when there were rumblings of the draft coming back(I forgot the senator that proposed it) after 9/11, everybody was shook on my campus.
I'm not saying that people don't join the military out of the sense of duty to this dirty bih called the US but after talking to veterans(Ma dukes worked in the psychiatric department of the VA for over 20 years) and seeing the fukked up state they come back in..
No black person in their right mind should serve but at the same time people want better lives and the carrot the military dangles in front of your eyes can be irresistible..
