Offseason doesn't seem like the correct term especially in relation to other sports. But do agree that wrestlers should take small breaks each year in rotation. Can't have all the big stars out at the same time but certain ones after each of the 4 major PLEs could work.

I was gonna say something along these lines. These wrestlers need time to reset/ rest their body.

There are enough wrestlers on both brands to be able to have a star take a 2-3 week break here and there. Give some other people some TV time and see if they can build something. Going 52 weeks, and only off when injured is insane.

Like everyone has said in the thread, I'd never want it to stop for months at a time, but it should definitely be a time that certain guys can take their time to slow down or rest up and take care of their physical stuff. Write 'em off on TV, let 'em take their 6-8 weeks and then they can bounce back when they're ready.

As others have said, the only way it would work is if it was a rotating offseason for talent.

The whole company doing an offseason would never work. Too much money involved and one of the biggest draws to wrestling for the content distributors is that wrestling is a guaranteed high-ranking live viewing audience of original content in prime time 52-weeks a year. Outside of cable news shows, which have terrible ad rates because it’s all old people watching, there’s nothing else out there offering that.

Don't need it, just need to rotate wrestlers in and out when they need time off for vacations or are beat up physically. I would say the E does this well already.
This is all you need to do, which once again, shows how awful Vince was (HHH has only had a year) at booking.

A common sense booking approach would allow them to build enough stars so that they could rotate stars in and out & give guys a few weeks off 3 or 4 times a year.

Doing this with Cena would've done wonders instead of shoving him down everybody's throat year after year.

Now, AEW doesn't even need an offseason because they only work 1 or 2 days a week there. :yeshrug:

yeah thing with AEW is that they dont really do house shows. only if talent takes other bookings but often the major stars aren't doing that.

agree that wwe tends to focus on one big major star like cena and reigns tho reigns started taking lots of time off eventually, and cuz of his health. def good to have a decent rotation of stars to not only focus on a variety for storylines but to have people out to be able to rest or nurse injuries. don't need the same guy out there year round. what wwe has done lately tho is having those long term title reigns. like roman, gunther, seth had a decent length amidst his health issues, logan paul tho he rarely wrestles. i know its good for record setting reigns and whatnot but def should have everyone else taking some decent time off. can only book so many people at a time on each show.
