Say what you want about the music but money is so much better now for artists
An artist like Cam two albums in, with multiple hit records, would be making a a shyt load of money doing shows now.
There's so many stories of artists in the 80s and 90s with hit records and platinum albums still living with their parents. Now artists have regional hits and make 20K a month doing shows alone.

if you read Gucci Mane's book. When Gucci had a hit and went to NY he was introduced to Cam'ron. Cam was driving a Toyota Camry that he told Gucci he got it for his mother. Gucci said Cam looked mad regular.
I've been saying this for a minute now. nikkas see how albums sales have declined and think there's no money in the music industry compared to yesteryear and that couldn't be the furthest thing from the truth.
Facts! Only thing really better then was the budgets. But if you’re willing to work and do shows, you could live a very good life with no hit records. shyt if Cam was out now with what he had after two albums (Horse and Carriage, 357, What Means the World) he’d easily be making 20K a show and probably getting 6-7 bookings a month.

along with their midwest and houston shyt they had going on they were still selling while they were plat on the Roc and wanted to set up shop in ATL until they got into that situation w/ BMF.
