Eh?

The only thing he's feeling is not letting down the entire black community again. He's not frontrunning, he's still embarrassed. Dude didn't take the same loss the rest of the Panthers did. He thought he was about to win for black people with all the shyt he was talking leading up to the superbowl. And that was dope, but instead of handling it like a man at the one point he needed to most he couldn't.

This isn't some "oh i love black people when i win" shyt at all. Come in, yal just making up shyt now. Dude genuinely feels like he let black people down. Is that true? No. But everything he's done since the clock hit zero has shown that.

What's the rush to tear him down?
Winning for black people? Breh this ain't a football game cam is purposely being obtuse about the plight of black people which is cowardly and intellectually dishonest. Or he's just stupid.

cam never really came off as some type of spokesperson for black people despite his like able personally, I been been noticed he was a Oreo nikka back at auburn, I mean he went to auburn :mjpls:

he could have kept his mouth shut and not said anything but at some point the media would have addressed him about it eventually.

all them nikkas go racist schools. none of them fukks with black colleges like they should.

media kept addressing marshawn too but he kept quiet. don't see why cam couldn't.

Leading up to the Superbowl and through that undefeated season, Cam was repping hard. Ever since that "letter from a disappointed mother" he was stunting.

Like... we pretending that didn't happen or what? By the time media day came around Cam was too happy to speak for everyone. Way too happy. Everyone was happy. He lost and now he's shook about stepping out again because he knows now that he can't be black superman. Its months later and he's still gunshy.

He's obviously immature and repping a degree from Auburn. Of course he's not smart or an adult about how he handles certain things. He's still putting in work though.

black colleges can barely even afford their sports programs as is

before sports are even a thing, they need to get their finances together. too many of them are breaking off their regular student body with outlandish student loans... sports gotta stop being the focal point at every level of this kinda discussion. way too much emphasis on ball.

Jerry Richardson, hyper conservative owner of the Panthers and NFL HOF'er, has controlled Cam since he drafted him. He told Cam no tattoos, don't grow your hair out, no piercings before they drafted him. There have been rumors that after Cam said people are afraid of him as a black QB during the Super Bowl that Richardson got in his ear and told him to back down from his "views". Everything you've read from Newton since the Super Bowl has been in this fairy tale, color less world that white people wish existed and that black people should just get over racism already.

Cam is big enough to think for himself but is he willing to? That's the real question
and thats my point

Of course the ATL
Why the fukk

should an athlete be anyone's symbol or ambassador for any political movement :russ:

I'm still lost on that. I wouldn't even let my kid hype Cam when playing Madden because of the towelhead shyt. I'd clown the fukk out of him then run the score up and dare him to take a towel out the linen closet. But nevertheless, I'm not going to instantly and immediately tear another black man down for a statement when I know for a fact how hard it is to find people who genuinely care about the community and show that with their actions over a period of years.

I just don't have that in me.

Cam has interjected himself into these discussion recently...it hasn't been an accident, but here's another thing: A black QB is always going to be held to a higher level of scrutiny & criticism. He can't escape it. But Cam's docile, post racial view points aren't only ignorant, but they're dangerous. You don't know how many racist whites I've encountered who have used Cam's comments as a way to combat legitimate minority issues because according to Cam "We're past race as a country". :mjpls:

Actions are important, but words do matter and if someone says something dumb they need to be held accountable for what they say, Cam's no exception

Reppin and stunting while playing a game doesn't outweigh shucking and jiving while being asked to speak on the plight of your people.

In a recent interview on "The Charlie Rose Show" on PBS, the 75-year-old Richardson recounted a conversation he had with the 22-year-old Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback on April 4 in which he asked Newton if he had any tattoos or piercings.

When Newton replied "No sir, I don't have any," Richardson told Rose he told the quarterback: "Good. We want to keep it that way."

In "The Charlie Rose Show" interview, Richardson also said that Newton said he was thinking about growing out his hair. Richardson said he responded, "I think you have a very nice haircut."

:mjpls:
yeah but Cam has all the leverage if he speaks out. the owner won't be able to cut the NFL MVP for speaking out. Cam is in the driver's seat here if he really wanted to speak on it. shyt even Russ who was very careful about what he said sounded more understanding of Kaep
