This is why Cam 180 turn is more disappointing. He's at this point of his career, he can stand up and get his point across because he is the face of the franchise. You imagine the teams will sign if he was released, and the backlash from the Carolina fans if they let released him.

Is it a 180 turn?

Cam has always struggled to get his point across in interviews and has consistently been a kumbaya love solves everything kind of person. He wants to have fun and for people to love him, so when he initially took that stance about how he may scare people as a black QB he didn't care for the discussion taking over the game itself.

The best work that Cam will ever do in his life is in the community (where he is incredible) and serving as an inspiration for thousands of black kids out there to have fun and succeed at whatever they want to do. I don't see how people can flip their opinions on the dude when he hasn't changed, unless you just didn't like him to begin with which means you've been paying attention.

I don't disagree with you, but he has to know that a lot of the people who love him & defend him are fans that are affected by race every day. That's why people are so disappointed in what he's said. He comes off as aloof, inarticulate and ignorant on social issues that impact his biggest fans

People thought he was really about that social awareness life. He's not and never has been. He's really just a big kid having fun playing football. He wasn't about being a freedom fighter. I've been trying to tell brehs that for years

He pretty much is those things in interviews. I'm just wondering what people have been watching all this time but I would agree that he probably shouldn't try to tackle this subjects he's not prepared for

To me, Cams biggest fans should've been those who purely wanted to see a black quarterback succeed and destroy all the bullshyt narratives that are levied against them. Those who wanted to root for a quarterback that has a lot of fun on the field, dances, doesn't care that it makes people mad because it's who he is. To root for Cam because he's some sort of social activist is to not even understand who he was. I'm seeing the bandwagon fans hop off right now

Yeah that's not who he is. Like I said, working in the community with children is the best impact he'll ever make in his life. That's more so his calling than what Kap is doing now, which Cam isn't really built for.

No, the problem isn't that Cam is ignorant on racial issues. The problem is that he's full of shyt and everybody knows it. He's obviously saying things that he knows white people want to hear. This isn't a case of him not knowing any better, this is a case of him willfully selling out for personal gain. He had it right the first time he spoke on race. Those initial comments that had white mad people mad as fukk proved that he's self aware as far as race goes. I guess he's just decided that the backlash for speaking the truth is something that he's not willing to deal with. Now it's up to us as blacks to make the backlash for c00ning be something that he doesn't want to deal with.

If you're going to weigh in on this situation then you need to be honest about what's actually going on.

This is all true but I think people feel betrayed because last year while he was just having fun, winning games and off to the superbowl, it was the people doing that battle for him, when the media and radio sport talk hosts were ripping him, it was the black fans that came to bat for him in comment sections and calling into talk radio. Now it came time to simply agree that the population that has always had his back is being mistreated, he failed to voice up like the people that did for him last year. It's only right people feel let down. I don't expect these people to protect him anymore, when old ladies write more letters about how their daughter is offended because he dabbed or talk radio hosts trash him for doing something 'too black', folks will just let them throw him in the dirt. Why speak up for someone who won't do the same for you? Sure he does things in the community but unless you are in THAT community you never see it, words mean a lot whether people want to admit it or not. A simple acknowledgment would have let his black fans know "I see you", but he chose to distance himself. That hurts, especially for the people that had his back, people that got into arguments in bars and at work, its a slap in the face, it's like he's siding with the very people you argued with for him, last year.

I've never been more embarrassed and ashamed for a player like I am of Cam NewBlackTon:wtb:

...and, all the time WE :cape: when his beloved CaCs slandered his character:mjpls:

Shoulda never gave you nikkas Oikos Greek Yogurt:scust:

I think that not diving on that football fukked his head up something awful. Just losing the SB would have been bad enough, but he had a specific MOMENT of loser-dom and now he's self-conscious as fukk and just hoping that mastah forgets about his cowardice.
