:scust: how he could say that with all the shyt he been through. This dude had scouts making judgements about him based on his smile. People crtiicizing him for the most ridiculous of things and he has that kind of response? Man, just be quiet. If you have nothing of substance to say, a simple "no comment" will suffice.
Cam was even under scrutiny going back to his days at Blinn College.

I understand there is a lot of social injustice going on in America but that does not mean everyone should speak on those injustices if you are not educated enough on the issue. What Kaepernick did was commendable he is a QB, NOT a councilman, police chief or legistlative figure. I'm sure no DA in the country read kapernick or cam's comments and said: "hey maybe I should actually start doing my job and indicting rogue officers and going for convictions"

To bring my point full circle, maybe we as citizens should stop listening and looking for athletes to be the barometer for social change in this country because it won't happen that way. We have far too many backing themselves into a corner and we vilify them for it and when they're silent and say "no comment" then we scream c00n!!!!

That's not the point. Cam should just keep his mouth shut because he does more harm than good. He said a whole bunch of nothing. A simple "no comment is fine". As a black man or woman, you really should be aware and it's sad the amount of people that aren't.

Social change will come from everyone. Athletes, entertainers, regular, every day joes. But you discount the amount of pull and influence these athletes have. You think a councillor or other government officials will do anything based off of one thing an athlete will say? They won't. But if 10's of thousands of people have something to say, that may get them to do something.

No one is vilifying Cam, it's moreso what he said was really blech-worthy. If you're not articulate or prone to saying silly shyt, just sit these interviews out.

Did he even have an opinion? He just said a whole bunch of nothing.
I don't know, he didn't really address the subject, just deflected.
But if you don't want to hear that deflection then just don't ask in the first place.
I don't ask opinions of others just to get mines thrown right back at me, so posters should probably either accept that people will speak up for what they as individuals believe in regardless of your perspective, or stop holding celebrities to these standards.

There's no divide and conquer here bro. What you have is a QB who is self electing to appeal to his mostly white audience by offering sunny side up race relations to whites at the expense of his black fan base. It's the classic "if blacks folk would just do better" mantra white supremacists have spewed at us for centuries, defiantly saying that racism is over and victim blaming us for stoking the flames of race at every turn. Now they got a black man who is parroting all their talking points for them...what you have is a lack of knowledge of self and history from Scam combined with color blind rhetoric and racist white talking points.

This is why it's important to keep it real at all times. Despite all the outlandish shyt you say about Cam and despite me being a fan of his, EVERYTHING you said here is 100% on the money.

Cam let his whole black fanbase down with this nonsense.

TYRONE GA!
Cam is scared and a moron. I hate how they keep asking him race questions when he not even qualified to answer normal ones

"We gotta get better?"
"Where?"
"In Charlotte."
