He dipped on us

fukk em

As a Lions fan..this was just another example of why this organization is trash. Dudes retire early all the time and aren't asked to pay back bonuses. Demanding Johnson do it was clearly a power move and a "fukk you too buddy" from the GM.

Worse thing is on Monday I gotta hear Detroit radio talk about this nonstop. White dudes calling in trashing the best Detroit Lion of the last decade while comparing the situation to their shytty blue collar job. Nobody gives a fukk that you work construction - you don't have a signing bonus, you have no leverage over your employer and you probably support political policies that have destroyed your bargaining+salary. So tired of these white dudes calling in outraged that black athletes have more power than them.

:hhh:

Like the cac above you smh
@Cladyclad fukk you

Calvin along with Julio are one of the few WRs who were never on that diva shyt. Bruh risked his health for that shytty franchise for years & never complained. Even choose GA Tech over other colleges cause him & his family value education

He still does charity work in Michigan & this is how they treat him smh

And NFL contracts are honored by the organization’s right ?

U sound like a cac that calls into the local radio shows
The coli logic :snoop:.

Calvin signed that contract himself. No one forced Him to resign with lions. That was his choice. The lions had the right to take that money back and release whoever they want because its in the contract that the player signed. No guarantees in the NFL.

Y’all need to stop with this sappy shyt lol

I’m from Detroit I watched all but 2 lions games during his career. His heart was never into football like that. Cal seem to play football just cause. shyt crazy our 2 best players and two of the best players ever just didn’t love football like that. My squad is just unlucky. The only time Cal wanted to dominate. He had the best game by a wr in NFL history when he sonned Dez & the Cowgirls.

Cal just didn’t have that killer in him. I guess u can’t be born with everything. Word to Bron hairline.
So because he chose to take control of his career his heart was never into it:mjpls:

Nick Foles fell 4 snaps short of a $1m bonus in his contract last season, the Eagles gave it to him anyway. Lawrence Guy & James White both barely missed 500k snap based incentives last season, the Pats gave it to them anyway.

The Lions had every legal right to take back what they did, sure, but you have teams at the top of the sport routinely taking care of their own and the Lions are playing hardball with one of the greatest players in franchise history. The only teams that do shyt like that are bottom dwellers who never amount to anything.

I thought it was criminal when the Dolphins did this to Ricky Williams. They almost killed that n1gga runnin into 8 and 9 man boxes wit fukkin Jay Feidler at qb. He earned that money.

Been listening to sports radio on and off today, and I gotta say I'm impressed. These white callers have largely sided with Johnson.
:ehh:

Lot of people bringing up that Romo, Lynch, and many other players were not asked to return bonus money after retirement. Only example I can think of in terms of a player being forced to pay back money was Malik McDowell, the Seahawks rookie who ended his career with an ATV accident in the offseason.
