O'Bannon v. NCAA
United States District Court for the Northern District of California
Full case name EDWARD O’BANNON, et al. v. NATIONAL COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION; ELECTRONIC ARTS INC.; and COLLEGIATE LICENSING COMPANY,
Date decided August 08, 2014
Judge sitting Claudia Wilken
O'Bannon v. NCAA is an antitrust class action lawsuit filed against the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The lawsuit, which former UCLA basketball player Ed O'Bannonfiled on behalf of the NCAA's Division I football and men's basketball players, challenges the organization's use of the images of its former student athletes for commercial purposes. The suit argues that upon graduation, a former student athlete should become entitled to financial compensation for NCAA's commercial uses of his or her image.[1][2] The NCAA maintains that paying its athletes would be a violation of its concept of amateurism in sports.[3] At stake are "billions of dollars in television revenues and licensing fees."[4]

nikka ruined the lives of millions of people INCLUDING the very ppl he claimed were being exploited.

Everybody loved those games, including the players.

The average payout for the more than 29,000 athletes who made claims against EA Sports for using their names and likenesses in video games will be around $1,200, according to Darren Rovell of ESPN.

In July, a federal judge ruled in favor of former UCLA basketball player Ed O’Bannon and a number of others in an anti-trust lawsuit against the NCAA, which had prevented athletes from receiving revenue for the sale of their likenesses.

The total settlement came out to $60 million, with $18.8 million reportedlygoing to the plaintiffs’ lawyers.

The three lead plaintiffs, former UCLA basketball player Ed O'Bannon, former Rutgers quarterback Ryan Hart and former Nebraska and Arizona State quarterback Sam Keller, will receive around $15,000 each.

can you believe 15,000 for ruining

a go fund me to stop this nikka from going ahead would have raised more

Exactly, they haven't made a Madden for the PC since 2009. I had the urge to play Madden a few months ago. Just installed 09 Madden with the updated rosters. That's another reason I don't understand the FOR argument. Mods always succeed. My copy of NBA 2k18 is double its originally size on my HD all the mods I've downloaded.
