Opinion got nothing to do with it. This isn't a question of whether you think vanilla ice cream or chocolate ice cream is better.
I can't even fathom what it feels like to be dumber than people who lived in the third century B.C. Congratulations, brehs have free access to endless knowledge and scientific information yet choose to be stupid and think their "opinion" trumps basic facts. Whew.
The earth is round. You can go to a local science observatory and look through a telescope and see the moon and other planets are round too. You can ride on an airplane and see the spherical nature of our atmosphere. None of this information is gated or hidden. You can watch space feeds from the International Space Station, or any other collection of space videos and pictures showing the earth is round.
No one is telling you what your favorite music or sport should be. Scientists are very wary of saying things are facts. Usually they basically say "we're pretty damn sure this is true" and as an intelligent person, you'd think ok cool well they've studied this and this is their best idea/theory/etc. In the case of the earth...it's not a theory, it's a scientific fact that has been proven by scientists and is even visible to laymen. Same with gravity. Same with the earth revolving around the sun. etc
